Board Meeting

Members Present: Peggy Stencel, Phil Essenmacher, Deanna Werthman, Marilyn Light and Betty Harvey 

Members Absent: Carol Watson 

Guest: Colleen Sexton

 

The meeting was called to order at 2:30 p.m. and agenda presented by President Peggy Stencel.

Unfinished Business --

 

The Fall Flannel Days event was discussed:

*Scarecrows that have been stored at Marilyn Light’s will be displayed on Main Street.

*Randy Simmon’s art class provided 10 new scarecrows that will be displayed on Huron Ave. The bill for materials $107.80 was paid.

*Flannel Days flyers will be distributed to schools by Marilyn and Colleen.

*Jack Moeller will provide apples and cider.

   *Marilyn & Colleen have prizes ready for costume contest.

*Marilyn needs people to help with registration and judging of costumes.

*Betty volunteered to help where needed.

*Carol and Marty are making arrangements for a tent and planning the rest of the Flannel Days Event including games, getting the hay, and organizing with Gerri from Bent On Bones for the dog parade and contest.

*Kooj from Sax Appeal will be the DJ 

September Days:

*Marilyn and Colleen will continue to be in charge of crafts for the event. 

Garage Sale:

*Marilyn and Colleen will not be working on that event.  We are looking for someone to take charge of that event. 

A motion was made by Marilyn and 2nd by Betty to compensate the treasurer with complimentary membership and advertising in the Visitors Guide. The board was unanimously in favor of the motion. 

There was a discussion of the replacement of trustees. Further discussion will follow. 

For all future events an itemized cost list will be required. 

Peggy, Phil and Carol will be attending the November 12th DDA meeting following up on the fireworks and walking map donation. 

There was discussion on combining the Visitors Guide and Walking Map.  Feasibility will be explored. 

LBA General membership meetings were discussed. Two meetings a year are being considered – Fall & Spring. Meetings will be held at the Lexington Municipal Trailor Park Community Bldg. or Village Hall depending upon availability.
